Katherine and a Mini Taj Mahal.

First off, credit for the blog name goes to my dear friend, Airek. I believe the word came into being after reading countless made-up words from students, which I may have to post a few of someday.

I love to write. I picked up the idea of being a “writer” when I was in 2nd grade—my friend Karen had started writing, so I followed because I wanted to be just as cool. She has since stopped and yet here I am. I recently started my MFA in Fiction, where I am also a “House Mom” for the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity.

Things I like:

Radio talk show hosts. Moths. Cottage cheese. People who never do what they say they will. Ellipticals. Writer’s block. Bad coffee. Moochers. Unseasonably cold weather. When we don’t get snow during the winter. Fried chicken. People who bad-mouth at any chance. The fact that my sister’s cat always hisses at me when I pick her up. When you’re so hungry it makes your head feel funny. Being bored. Being called by my last name. Not feeling like an adult yet.
